MINSK — In a gesture of warm diplomacy and personal camaraderie, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko hosted an intimate dinner at his farmhouse in honor of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The high-profile gathering, held during the prime minister’s two-day official visit to Belarus, was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. President Lukashenko extended a heartfelt welcome to the Pakistani delegation, expressing sincere warmth and admiration for both Prime Minister Shehbaz and former premier Nawaz Sharif.
During the dinner, President Lukashenko commended Pakistan’s leadership and emphasized the importance of further enhancing bilateral ties. His remarks reflected a deep respect for Nawaz Sharif’s long-standing political influence as well as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts to strengthen international cooperation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude for the gracious hospitality, thanking President Lukashenko for the warm reception and friendly atmosphere. He noted that such gestures of goodwill reflect the strength of Pakistan-Belarus relations and the shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation.
Official Visit and Agenda
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Belarus on Thursday, April 10, 2025, for an official two-day visit at the invitation of President Lukashenko. Upon arrival in Minsk, he was warmly welcomed by Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, senior officials, and representatives of Pakistan’s embassy in Belarus.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries. During the visit, several bilateral meetings are scheduled, and both sides are expected to sign a number of agreements aimed at deepening cooperation in trade, industry, agriculture, education, and technology.
This is the latest in a series of high-level diplomatic engagements by Pakistan aimed at strengthening its relationships with regional partners and exploring new avenues for international collaboration.
