Merchant of Death joins Russia’s ultra-nationalist political party

Newly-released from American jail, Russian famous arms dealer, known as Merchant of Death has joined the Russian ultra-nationalist political party _ Liberal Democratic Party.

After reaching Moscow, Viktor Bout _ Merchant of Death, joined the political party to start his political career.

Last week the United States released Viktor Bout in swap for badminton star Brittney Griner who was taken into custody by Russian forces just ahead of Ukraine invasion.

LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky said, “I am sure Viktor Bout – a courageous person will take a worthy place in the party. Welcome to our ranks.”

Established in 1991, the party pursues a hardline ultra-nationalist ideology of Russia. Party’s manifesto is to reconquer the countries of the former Soviet Union.

The LDPR has been one of the most vehement supporters of the invasion of Ukraine and it called for a severe approach from Moscow.
