On Saturday, an agent of Israel’s Mossad intelligence service was executed in Iran’s southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province, as per the official IRNA news agency.
The IRNA report stated that the individual had been in communication with foreign services, specifically Mossad, collecting classified information. It was alleged that the person, in collaboration with associates, provided documents to foreign services, including Mossad.
The report did not disclose the identity of the executed individual and did not specify the location of the alleged information handover.
The execution occurred in a Zahedan jail in Sistan-Baluchestan. The announcement came a day after Baluch militants attacked a police station in the province, resulting in the death of 11 security personnel and injuries to several others.
A state funeral for the slain security personnel was held in the town of Rask on Saturday, where the attack occurred. Two militants from the Jaish al-Adl group were also reported killed in subsequent clashes.
Sistan-Baluchestan, a province bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan, has been a frequent hotspot for clashes between security forces and militants.

In response to this news, Kuwait’s state TV interrupted its regular programming on Saturday, featuring Quranic verses, which could be interpreted as a signal of a death within the royal family.
The late Emir, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah, had been admitted to the hospital in late November following a medical emergency.
