Iran has declined an offer from the United States, allegedly transmitted through diplomatic means, to allow Israel to execute a “symbolic attack” after Iran’s recent retaliatory drone and missile assault, as per exclusive information acquired by The Cradle.
A confidential Iranian military security representative informed The Cradle that the United States contacted Tehran through intermediaries, proposing Iran abstain from responding to an Israeli attack. This would enable Tel Aviv to maintain its reputation, according to the source.
Nonetheless, Iran quickly rejected the suggestion, emphasizing that any Israeli attack on Iranian territory would result in an immediate and resolute counteraction.
The Iranian message, communicated through the Swiss ambassador in Tehran by representatives from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), aimed to send a powerful statement to the United States, according to the informant.
Following Iran’s recent retaliation, which involved drone and missile attacks targeting Israeli military facilities over the weekend, this event occurred. The actions were a response to the bombing of Iran’s consulate in Damascus.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, cautioned that if Israel retaliates, Tehran’s response will be immediate. He underscored that Iran will not delay its reaction.
Although US defense officials anticipate a “limited response” from Israel towards Iran, ongoing discussions within Israel’s war cabinet show no final decision has been made yet.
The Israeli army chief of staff, Lt Gen Herzi Halevi, has emphasized Israel’s dedication to reacting to Iran’s recent operation, asserting that the missile and drone attacks by Iran will not be left unanswered.
