A daring financial heist has occurred in the Cantonment area, raising serious security concerns among local residents. Some unknown dacoits looted Rs98 lakh after breaking the ATM of the National Bank of Pakistan, Cantt Branch in Kharian and escaped from the scene, reported by a Private TV channel on Wednesday. The bold daylight robbery has prompted immediate action from law enforcement agencies.
According to initial field reports, the thieves targeted a heavily frequented commercial location. The ATM was installed at the National Bank of Pakistan branch, which is located at 10&& Shop in Kharian. The criminals used advanced tools to breach the cash machine before fleeing into the surrounding streets.
Police Launch Investigation
Local security officials arrived at the crime scene shortly after the bank staff discovered the broken machine. Police registered a first information report (FIR) on behalf of the branch manager and started an investigation, but no arrest was made till the filing of this report. Forensic teams are currently gathering fingerprint data and scanning available security footage to identify the suspects.
