ISLAMABAD โ The federal government issued retirement notifications for several senior officers of the Police Service of Pakistan on Monday. The official list includes personnel ranging from superintendents to inspector generals. Furthermore, the Establishment Division confirmed that these individuals will leave their posts upon reaching the prescribed age of superannuation.
Two top-ranking Grade-22 officers will conclude their careers in December. Specifically, Ameer Ahmed Sheikh will retire on December 14 from his post at the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat in Karachi. Meanwhile, Muhammad Shahzad Sultan will leave his position at the National School of Public Policy in Lahore on December 29.
The division also announced dates for high-profile Grade-21 and Grade-20 officials. For instance, Officer on Special Duty Aamir Zulfiqar Khan will retire on July 7, while Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir will step down on August 21. Additionally, Grade-20 officer Afzal Mehmood Butt will conclude his service at the National Anti-Money Laundering Authority on August 7.
Several Grade-19 officers across various provincial administrations will also transition out of service. Consequently, the provincial governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab will lose senior leadership between August and December. These departing individuals include Gul Wali Khan, Dr. Zain Ali Sheikh, Ali Sher Jakhrani, and Javed Ahmed Baloch.
Finally, multiple Grade-18 officers serving in Punjab and Sindh will retire during the second half of the year. The Punjab government will see the departure of seven officers, including Muzammil Hussain, Naveed Irshad, and Raza Safdar Kazmi. Similarly, Sindh police officer Mahmood Hussain Sameer will officially retire on December 30. Therefore, the federal government has finalized all administrative preparations for these scheduled leadership transitions.
