Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has marked the 25th anniversary of the ruling Justice and Development Party, saying its greatest achievements remain ahead.
Speaking at an anniversary event in Ankara on Friday, Erdogan described the milestone as a historic and significant day.
He said the AK Party had transformed Türkiye since its establishment in 2001 and emerged from the hopes of the Turkish people.
The party was founded on August 14, 2001, under Erdogan’s leadership following his tenure as Istanbul mayor.
AK Party Reshapes Turkish Politics
Erdogan said his party had delivered major investments and projects across Türkiye’s economy, healthcare, education and transportation sectors.
He also credited the party with strengthening national confidence and contributing to Türkiye’s development.
The AK Party has maintained an exceptional electoral record since Türkiye entered its multiparty era in 1946.
Its political journey has produced four prime ministers and two presidents through successive electoral victories.
Erdogan attributed the party’s continued success to Turkish voters, who repeatedly entrusted it with political authority and national resources.
He said the party had used that mandate responsibly to develop and strengthen the country.
Meanwhile, Erdogan urged supporters to look toward the future as the party enters its next political chapter.
He described the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on the AK Party’s achievements while preparing for further challenges.
The president’s remarks reinforced his message that the governing movement remains focused on Türkiye’s development and future political ambitions.
