Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Son Stars in ‘Bismil’ OST for TV Debut

TV Debut

Eminent singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s son, Shahzaman Ali Khan, has made a notable entrance into the television industry with his debut performance on ARY Digital’s new serial, Bismil.

Shahzaman, whose musical lineage includes his grandfather Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan—a distinguished harmonium player—and his grandnephew Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan—one of the most revered Qawwali singers—has followed in these illustrious footsteps. He has lent his powerful, Nusrat-like vocals to the original soundtrack (OST) of the serial.

In a post on Instagram, Shahzaman expressed his enthusiasm for his TV debut, stating, “I’m thrilled to announce the Bismil OST is finally out now.”

He extended his gratitude to the entire crew for their dedication and hard work in bringing the project to fruition.

Shahzaman has been honing his skills under the guidance of his father, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and made his stage debut with his father at a sold-out show in London last year.

This performance was part of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s efforts to raise awareness about the 2022 Pakistan floods.

The serial Bismil, which premiered its first episode last night, stars Hareem Farooq and Nauman Ijaz in leading roles, with additional appearances by Saad Qureshi and Savera Nadeem.

The show is directed by veteran actor and director Aehsun Talish and scripted by the acclaimed writer Zanjabeel Asim Shah.

Shah’s previous successful works include popular dramas such as Balaa, Cheekh, Fraud, Mein, and the recent Noor Jahan.

Shahzaman Ali Khan’s entry into the industry through Bismil not only marks a significant milestone in his career but also continues the legacy of his renowned family, adding a modern touch to their storied musical heritage.
