Rising star Naeema Butt, best known for her breakout role as Rubab in the hit drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, is making headlines once again—this time for her no-holds-barred take on the superficial side of the entertainment industry.
Appearing on a show of private news channel Naeema opened up about the performative friendships that, according to her, are all too common in showbiz. While her character on screen was bold and unapologetic, it turns out that Naeema shares the same fearless energy off-screen as well.
“What I’ve noticed is that many of these friendships exist only for Instagram,” she said. “They look warm and genuine in photos, but in reality, there’s nothing authentic behind them.”
Without directly naming names, Naeema pointed toward some of her Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum co-stars, revealing how their online support didn’t match their real-life actions.
“They’d pretend to be my best friends online, but in person, they were trying to sideline me—even physically pushing me off stage at events,” she shared.
Naeema stressed that the often-seen “friendship goals” among celebrities are carefully curated illusions meant for social media. She added that she now chooses to maintain a distance from such insincerity and prefers building meaningful, real connections.
Her candid remarks have sparked conversation across social media, with fans and fellow actors praising her honesty. Many called her outspokenness a breath of fresh air in an industry known for avoiding uncomfortable truths.
