Renowned Indian lyricist Javed Akhtar has expressed his desire for Pakistani singer and actor Moazzam Ali Khan to sing some of his songs after coming across a video of Khan’s soulful performance on YouTube.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Akhtar shared his admiration for Khan after listening to his rendition of the classic song “Yeh Nain Deray Deray.”

The veteran lyricist posted, “Just now I watched a gentleman Muazzam saheb on YouTube singing ‘Yeh Nain Deray Deray.’ Could he please contact me? I will be thankful if he sings a few songs for us.”
This public appreciation from such a legendary figure in the Indian entertainment industry left Moazzam Ali Khan overwhelmed. In response, Khan expressed his gratitude through a heartfelt social media post.
He described Akhtar’s praise as an “honor beyond words” and shared how deeply moved he was by the recognition from someone who has inspired generations with his words.
“Truly grateful to be appreciated by the legendary Javed Akhtar Sahab. His words have inspired generations, and to have him acknowledge my voice and song is an honor beyond words,” Khan wrote.
Khan also thanked Akhtar for the encouragement, stating that it meant the world to him. Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to his fans and well-wishers who supported and appreciated his talent. “To all the fans and friends who reached out to appreciate and showered their love and trust in me, I am genuinely humbled and thankful to all of you,” he added.
Moazzam Ali Khan is not only a talented singer and actor but also a skilled voiceover artist. He gained recognition for his roles in popular HUM TV dramas such as “Meri Shehzadi” and “Ishq-e-Laa.” Interestingly, Khan also revealed in a podcast interview that he is the great-grandson of Liaquat Ali Khan, the first Prime Minister of Pakistan.
This unexpected cross-border appreciation has sparked excitement among fans from both Pakistan and India, with many eagerly anticipating a potential collaboration between the two artists. If this collaboration materializes, it will not only be a musical treat for fans but also a positive step toward cultural harmony between the neighboring countries.
