Bollywood Icon Tabu
Indian acting legend Tabu has secured a recurring role in the highly anticipated Max prequel series, “Dune: Prophecy,” as exclusively reported by Variety.
Originally ordered in 2019 under the title “Dune: The Sisterhood,” the series draws inspiration from the novel “Sisterhood of Dune” by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
Set within the expansive universe of Frank Herbert’s “Dune,” the show takes viewers 10,000 years back in time, preceding the rise of Paul Atreides.
“Dune: Prophecy” chronicles the journey of two Harkonnen sisters as they navigate formidable challenges to safeguard the future of humanity and establish the revered Bene Gesserit sect.
Tabu’s character, Sister Francesca, is described as a formidable presence characterized by strength, intelligence, and allure. As a former love interest of the Emperor, her return to the palace disrupts the delicate power dynamics in the capital.

Notable performances in films like “Cheeni Kum,” “Haider,” and “Andhadhun” have solidified her reputation as one of the industry’s finest talents.
Tabu has also made significant contributions to international cinema, starring in acclaimed productions such as “Life of Pi,” “The Namesake,” and the BBC miniseries “A Suitable Boy.”
