On February 15, 2024, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported an increase in the foreign exchange reserves, climbing by $12.5 million or 0.16% WoW to reach $8.06 billion for the week ending February 09, 2024.
Simultaneously, the country’s overall reserves experienced a rise, surging by $51.5 million or 0.39% WoW to $13.15 billion. Commercial banks also witnessed an augmentation in reserves, with an increase of $39 million or 0.77% WoW, totaling $5.09 billion.
Throughout the current fiscal year, total liquid foreign reserves have demonstrated significant growth, expanding by $3.99 billion or 43.55%. However, in the current calendar year, there has been a slight decrease of $0.07 billion or 0.54%.
