PMDC signs a deal with US firm Miracle Saltworks to extract and export Pink Salt

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has entered into a groundbreaking agreement with Miracle Saltworks Collective Incorporated, an American company, aimed at enhancing the extraction and utilization of Himalayan Pink Salt.

Facilitated by the Ministry of Energy and SIFC, this deal signifies a significant advancement in Pakistan’s mineral development endeavors.

Inked on February 20, 2024, the agreement establishes a collaboration between the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation and Miracle Saltworks Collective Inc. across various initiatives concerning Himalayan Pink Salt extraction and enhancement projects.

This partnership is anticipated to yield substantial economic advantages for Pakistan while also drawing foreign investors to the nation’s rapidly expanding mineral sector.

Mubarak Khan, the Chief Communication Officer of Miracle Saltworks, lauded the agreement as evidence of the fruitful collaboration between the two nations. Khan emphasized the crucial role played by SIFC in fostering international cooperation.

Following the successful conclusion of the agreement, foreign investors have shown keen interest in investing in Pakistan.

One investor expressed excitement about participating in this pioneering initiative, while another highlighted the significant presence of Canadian investors in the project.

The Ministry of Energy underscored SIFC’s pivotal role in promoting foreign investment in Pakistan.

Officials expressed confidence that the agreement would pave the way for extensive investment in the country, fostering economic growth and development.

Local investors also welcomed the agreement, recognizing the abundant economic benefits it would bring to Pakistan. One investor emphasized the nation’s rich reserves of Himalayan Pink Salt as a source of immense wealth.

The signing of this historic agreement is expected to elevate Pakistan’s global standing in the mineral industry and attract further foreign investment into the country’s burgeoning economy.
