A manager of Amazon recently disclosed that he earned around $370,000 while doing minimal work since joining the company.
The senior technical program manager, who had been laid off from Google, shared his story on Blind, an anonymous professional network.
In his post, the employee admitted that he joined Amazon with the intention of doing “nothing” while collecting a substantial paycheck.
He revealed that he spent only about eight hours a week working, mostly attending meetings.
Over his 1.5 years at Amazon, he resolved just seven tickets and delivered one automated dashboard, which he claimed took only three days to build using ChatGPT, though he pretended it took three months.
The post quickly went viral, eliciting a mix of reactions.
Some criticized the employee’s work ethic, while others found it intriguing.
The viral post has sparked widespread discussions about work efficiency, compensation, and corporate culture, with many debating the idea of working less while earning a significant salary.
