The International Falcon Breeders Auction in Riyadh concluded its 20-day event with remarkable success, generating over SR10 million ($2.66 million) in sales.
A total of 866 falcons were sold during the auction, which saw participation from 56 leading falcon breeding farms representing 19 countries, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
Now in its fourth year, the auction was hosted at the Saudi Falcons Club headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh.
Saudi Falcons Club spokesperson Waleed Al-Taweel highlighted that the event featured hundreds of falcons, including elite and rare breeds.
The highest-selling falcon this year was a male ultra-white gyrfalcon from the American Pacific Northwest Falcons farm, which fetched SR400,000.
The Saudi Falcons Club noted an increase in participation from local farms this year, providing them with opportunities to learn from leading international breeders and exchange expertise.
The auction also served as an international platform for falconers and breeders to trade within the framework of the club’s protocols.
The Saudi Falcons Club emphasized that the auction aligns with its vision to develop and preserve the rich heritage of falconry for future generations.
