A district and sessions court in Karachi South has indicted Anmol alias Pinky and her alleged accomplice Sameer in a drug-related case. The court formally framed charges against both accused during proceedings held on Saturday.
Authorities produced Pinky and Sameer before the court through a video link. However, both accused denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Court Frames Charges Against Both Accused
Following the indictment, the court issued notices to prosecution witnesses. The judge also summoned them to appear during the next stage of the proceedings.
The case was originally registered by Darakhshan Police in 2021. Prosecutors are expected to present evidence and witness testimonies as the trial moves forward.
The court’s decision marks a significant development in the long-running drug case. Both accused will now face trial after formally rejecting the charges against them.
SHC Adjourns Appeals Against Acquittal
Earlier, on September 24, 2026, the Sindh High Court indefinitely adjourned appeals challenging Pinky’s acquittal in three separate drug-related cases. Those cases were registered at Karachi’s Gizri Police Station.
A division bench rejected the prosecution’s request for an urgent hearing of the appeals. The appeals had been filed by the Prosecutor General Sindh against the trial court’s acquittal ruling.
Meanwhile, the latest proceedings relate to a separate case registered by Darakhshan Police. The prosecution will now continue presenting its case before the trial court.
The next hearing will focus on witness testimonies and other evidence. Court proceedings are expected to continue in accordance with the trial schedule.
