The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered the sealing of Nilore Homes’ marketing and site offices on Lehtrar Road. The offices are located near the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS).
According to a CDA document, the housing scheme started development without an approved Layout Plan or No Objection Certificate (NOC). Therefore, the authority declared the development and land use unauthorized under applicable regulations.
CDA Takes Action Against Unauthorized Development
The CDA said it had previously issued notices and show-cause notices to the scheme’s sponsors. The notices directed them to stop development, marketing, sale, purchase, allotment, and transfer of plots.
The sponsors also received instructions to remove unauthorized structures from the site. However, they failed to obtain the required approvals despite repeated directions from the authority.
Meanwhile, the CDA published public notices in national newspapers and uploaded them to its official website. Despite these measures, the sponsors reportedly continued operating without securing the necessary approvals.
Enforcement Directorate Ordered to Seal Offices
The Directorate of Regional Planning has now asked the CDA Enforcement Directorate to seal the marketing and site offices. The action will follow regulations governing private housing schemes in Islamabad.
The CDA has also sought action against buildings and other structures constructed without approved building plans. Authorities have been directed to consider demolition where required under the applicable rules.
Furthermore, relevant departments must ensure electricity and gas connections follow CDA-approved layout and building plans. The authority has also proposed action against advertising and online promotion of unauthorized housing schemes.
The CDA’s latest action highlights its continued enforcement against housing developments operating without required approvals. Officials are also seeking stricter controls over unauthorized construction and property marketing.
