The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has introduced new rules for plot file verification in Islamabad. The measures aim to reduce unnecessary delays and provide relief to property owners facing prolonged administrative procedures.
Under the new directives, officials cannot send plot files for verification without prior approval from the Director General Land and Estate. Member Estate Muhammad Zaman Watto issued these instructions to prevent arbitrary checks and improve administrative efficiency.
CDA Restricts Unnecessary Plot File Verification
The new rules prohibit officers from initiating authenticity checks without solid reasons. Previously, unnecessary verification procedures often delayed property-related applications and created difficulties for citizens.
Moreover, the authority has instructed its departments to ensure that no file remains pending at any desk for more than three days. This requirement aims to speed up processing and prevent avoidable administrative obstacles.
The directives also address delays in issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs). CDA officers must now complete these applications within clearly defined timeframes.
New Deadlines for Verification Procedures
Furthermore, the Director General Land and Estate will establish specific deadlines for every stage of the verification process. The department will issue a formal notification outlining these timelines.
The new framework will introduce greater accountability among officials handling property documentation. It will also help applicants understand how long different verification stages should take.
Member Estate Muhammad Zaman Watto has stressed the importance of eliminating unnecessary difficulties for citizens. Consequently, the authority expects departments to follow the new instructions and improve their overall performance.
Relief Expected for Islamabad Property Owners
The decision could benefit property owners, investors and individuals awaiting verification of their plot files. Faster processing may also reduce uncertainty during property transactions.
Additionally, clear deadlines and stricter oversight could improve transparency within the authority’s estate department. These measures represent an effort to make Islamabad’s property administration more efficient.
