Sindh Cultural Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the province on December 1, emphasizing the region’s rich heritage and traditions. The day was marked by vibrant rallies, colorful ceremonies, and heartfelt messages, with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah delivering a special tribute to Sindh’s cultural identity.
In his message, Shah expressed his admiration for the Sindhi people, describing them as the heirs of a great civilization and highlighting the importance of culture in defining a nation. He emphasized that Sindh’s identity is rooted in peace, love, and brotherhood, with the province’s history of tolerance and hospitality serving as the foundation for its unity. Shah proudly declared his connection to the land of Sufis, reinforcing Sindh’s legacy of peaceful coexistence and its unbroken tradition of welcoming others.
The Chief Minister also focused on the province’s future, urging the youth to embrace modern education, pursue new skills, and cultivate a love for books to drive Sindh’s progress. He called for the empowerment of women, pledging to ensure that mothers, sisters, and daughters are educated and included in the development of the province.
Festivities took place across Sindh, with events showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of the region. In Kandiaro, the Government High School Ali Hassan Hasbani hosted an event with student performances, including dances, tableaux, and cultural displays. Shahdadkot and Naseerabad were filled with spirited rallies, with participants waving flags and wearing traditional Sindhi caps and Ajraks. Mehar witnessed crowds likening the celebration to Eid, while Mithi became a hub of traditional sword dances and Sindhi music.
Sanghar’s Press Club hosted a large gathering, uniting people of all ages in celebration. Tangwani saw energetic rallies organized by local groups, where youth and children danced to national songs. Additionally, the U.S. Consulate in Karachi extended video greetings, honoring Sindh’s rich cultural legacy of unity, tolerance, and Sufi teachings.
