“Piya Piya Calling” from Coke Studio nominated for Norway’s P3 Gold Awards

The popular song Piya Piya Calling, produced by Coke Studio and performed by a blend of talented artists, has earned a nomination for “Song of the Year” at the prestigious P3 Gold Awards in Norway. The song, which features Norway’s own musical duo Karpe, vocalist Delara, and Pakistan’s Kaifi Khalil, became an instant hit worldwide, receiving over 14 million views on YouTube. Its infectious energy was amplified by a memorable dance collaboration with the Quick Style troupe, a hip-hop group founded by Norwegian-Pakistani twins and their Norwegian-Thai friend.

Xulfi, known formally as Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, the creative force behind this season’s Coke Studio, took to Instagram to share the news, celebrating this recognition on Norway’s largest radio network, P3. In his post, he reflected on how this nomination celebrates the spirit of cross-cultural collaboration that Piya Piya Calling embodies. He described the nomination as a response to pushing artistic boundaries with “art and love,” and encouraged fans to show their support by voting through a provided link.

Piya Piya Calling has captivated listeners across Pakistan, Norway, and beyond with its unique multilingual blend, catchy rhythms, and diverse musical styles. As a fusion track, it resonates with listeners worldwide, bridging cultures through music and dance.

Alongside the P3 Gold Award nod, the track is also one of three songs from Coke Studio Season 15 that have been submitted for Grammy consideration in the Best Global Music Performance category. This international acclaim underlines Coke Studio’s vision of bringing global audiences together through innovative musical projects.

Xulfi expressed his gratitude for the support from fans who appreciate art that “creates something new and beautiful every day,” marking another milestone in Coke Studio’s journey to foster cross-cultural connections through music.
