ISLAMABAD: More than 1,000 Afghan nationals detained from various parts of Rawalpindi have been deported to Afghanistan over the past week, police sources confirmed. The deportations were carried out through the Torkham border crossing.
Before their return, the individuals were held at a designated camp where their documents were reviewed and all legal procedures were completed, the sources added.
Authorities have confirmed that the crackdown on undocumented Afghan residents is ongoing, with police teams continuing operations in different areas.
Additionally, families possessing Afghan registration cards will also be temporarily relocated to camps during this process to facilitate document verification and background checks, according to police officials.
