Two Islamabad SHOs Removed, Seven Suspended for ‘Poor Performance’

Poor Performance

ISLAMABAD: According to a report, at least two Station House Officers (SHOs) within the Islamabad police force were relieved of their duties, while seven others faced suspension due to alleged poor performance, as stated by police officials.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police (Operations) Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bokhari led a meeting aimed at assessing the effectiveness of police personnel, as announced by an Islamabad police spokesperson.

During the session, DIG Bokhari sternly cautioned officers against engaging in corruption or displaying misconduct while carrying out their duties, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy in this regard.

As per the spokesperson, two SHOs were dismissed from their respective positions, while seven SHOs from various police stations were suspended due to incompetence.

Among those removed were the SHOs of Aabpara and Sihala police stations, while SHOs from Humak, Koral, Lohi Bher, Margalla, Nilore, Sangjani, and Ramna faced suspension for their perceived substandard performance.

Conversely, commendation was bestowed upon the SHOs of Industrial Area I-9 and Karachi Company police stations for their outstanding performance.

DIG Operations Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bokhari revealed that the suspended SHOs were granted a four-day window to enhance their performance, with the possibility of reinstatement contingent upon improvement.

He further asserted that officers demonstrating marked improvement would continue to be integral members of the Islamabad police force.

In related news, the federal government recently appointed Ali Nasir Rizvi as the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad police on March 29, succeeding Akbar Nasir who was reassigned to the Establishment Division.

Following the announcement of Rizvi’s appointment, three senior Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) within the Islamabad police force opted to go on leave, reportedly in response to the selection of a junior officer for the position of IG.

The newly-appointed IG, Ali Nasir Rizvi, brings a wealth of experience to his role, having previously served in positions such as SSP Operations, DPO Kasur, and DIG Operations Lahore, among others, throughout his distinguished career.
