Poland’s President Andrzej Duba has dispelled the impression that a missile which hit Poland on Wednesday and killed two persons was Russian attack.
Polish President anticipated that Ukraine may have launched the Soviet-era projectile which landed in Poland and killed two people.
He said there is “absolutely no indication” that a missile which came down in Polish farmland on Oct 16 was an intentional attack on the NATO country.
He said, “Ukraine’s defence was launching their missiles in various directions and probably one of these missiles unfortunately fell on Polish territory.”
“There is nothing, absolutely nothing to suggest that it was an intentional attack on Poland.”
Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary-General also endorsed the viewpoint of Polish President at a meeting of the military alliance in Brussels.
He said, “An investigation into this incident is ongoing and we need to await its outcome. But we have no indication that this was the result of a deliberate attack.”
