ISLAMABAD: The registration data shows a significant number of highly educated applicants for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage. Among those who are 3,000 PhD holders while 45,000 individuals with master’s degrees and nearly 60,000 university graduates have applied for 2027 Hajj. It highlights broad participation from educated segments of society in Pakistan.
The ministry also noted that younger Pakistanis are registering in large numbers, with approximately 76,000 applicants belonging to the 33-to-44-year age group.
Online registration for Hajj 2027 has crossed 250,000 applications within just two weeks of its launch, reflecting strong public interest and widespread adoption of Pakistan’s digital registration system, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
A ministry spokesperson said that a record 12,880 pilgrims completed their registrations from home in a single day. Encouraged by the response, the ministry is now considering introducing an online payment system for Hajj dues to further simplify the process.
The spokesperson said the modern Hajj Management System has become an effective platform for providing information and facilitating communication with applicants. Citizens are registering through the Pak Hajj mobile application and the official web portal without needing to visit banks or registration centres.
According to the ministry, around 187,000 applicants have registered under the Government Hajj Scheme, while approximately 63,000 have chosen private Hajj operators.
Highly Educated and Younger Applicants Lead Registrations
Officials said the digital registration system has eliminated the need for repeated visits to banks and long queues, making the application process more convenient and efficient for intending pilgrims.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs expects registrations to continue increasing in the coming weeks as more citizens apply for Hajj 2027 through the online platform.
