Yemen’s armed forces have claimed that approximately 340 Houthi fighters and commanders were killed or incapacitated during 1,322 military operations targeting the group’s positions and military infrastructure.
According to a military statement issued on Wednesday, government forces also destroyed or damaged 114 military vehicles and pieces of equipment during the operations.
The military spokesperson said government troops had made significant territorial advances in Al-Jawf province as part of the ongoing “Dawn of Yemen” offensive.
Units from the First and Third Emergency Divisions captured several Houthi positions, including Umm Lafifa, Qurun al-Sabir and Duhaydat al-Aqir.
Meanwhile, government forces and allied popular resistance fighters reported further advances in southwestern Taiz province. They also repelled Houthi attempts to recapture previously lost positions.
The military said operations would continue while taking precautions to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The “Dawn of Yemen” campaign began on October 5, aiming to restore government control over state institutions and retake the capital, Sanaa.
According to United Nations reports, renewed fighting since July has killed and wounded thousands of people and displaced more than 250,000, worsening Yemen’s humanitarian crisis. The reported battlefield casualties and equipment losses have not been independently verified.
