Rajab Butt Named in FIR
The complainant alleged that the attack was carried out at the behest of Rajab Butt. Based on these allegations, police registered a case at Nawab Town Police Station and initiated an investigation.
At this stage, the allegations remain under investigation. Authorities have not publicly released any findings regarding Rajab Butt’s alleged role in the incident.
Rajab Butt Facing Multiple Legal Challenges
The latest FIR adds to a series of legal cases already involving the social media personality.
Rajab Butt has previously faced multiple criminal cases and legal proceedings. These include allegations related to promoting illegal gambling applications, hurting religious sentiments under blasphemy laws, and separate assault and rape cases.
Each case is being handled through the relevant legal process. Therefore, the allegations remain subject to investigation or court proceedings where applicable.
Sindh High Court Rejects Earlier Petition
Separately, the Sindh High Court recently dismissed Rajab Butt’s petition seeking to quash a Karachi-based case registered against him over allegations of insulting Islamic symbols.
Following its decision, the court directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh to ensure that the investigation is completed as soon as possible. It also instructed the authorities to comply with its directions within three weeks.
The verdict came after the court had reserved its decision upon the completion of arguments presented by both sides.
The Karachi case was registered at Hyderi Market Police Station on the complaint of lawyer Riaz Solangi. That matter continues to proceed under the legal process.
Meanwhile, the newly registered Lahore case has added another legal challenge for Rajab Butt as investigators examine the allegations surrounding the reported cafรฉ incident.
