The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has expanded its operational strength by inducting 50 commandos from the Sindh Police’s Special Security Unit (SSU) on a one-year deputation. The move aims to enhance security arrangements and improve coordination between both law enforcement institutions.
The deployment follows an agreement between the FIA and SSU to support professional cooperation and strengthen the agency’s operational capabilities. Moreover, the arrangement highlights the growing importance of joint efforts among security organizations.
Female Commandos Join FIA Deployment
According to officials, the newly inducted contingent includes 25 female commandos who will serve alongside their male counterparts throughout the deputation period. The officers will perform security-related duties and contribute to the FIA’s operational requirements.
Under the agreement, the commandos will remain attached to the FIA for one year. Furthermore, another batch of 50 SSU commandos is expected to join the agency during the following year.
The inclusion of female commandos reflects efforts to increase women’s participation in specialized law enforcement roles. Additionally, their deployment is expected to improve diversity within operational teams.
Senior Officials Encourage Professional Excellence
Before the deployment, DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Dr. Maqsood Ahmed met the deputed commandos. He encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities with professionalism, dedication, and integrity.
Meanwhile, FIA Karachi Zone Director Muntazir Mehdi also visited the SSU headquarters. During his visit, he praised the commandos for their professional skills and expressed confidence in their ability to support the agency’s operations effectively.
The officials emphasized that the partnership represents strong coordination between the FIA and Sindh Police’s specialized security unit. They also stated that the agreement was finalized following the FIA’s request for additional operational support.
