The Board of Governors of the Daanish Schools Authority has approved a special admission quota for Bangladeshi students while also increasing the existing student quota for Balochistan.
The decisions were taken during a board meeting chaired by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat. According to the official announcement, the quota for Bangladeshi children was approved on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The new policy will take effect from the next academic year.
The move reflects the government’s continued efforts to expand educational opportunities while strengthening regional cooperation through quality education.
Balochistan Quota Also Expanded
Alongside the new quota for Bangladeshi students, the board also approved an increase in the number of seats reserved for students from Balochistan.
During the meeting, Rana Sikandar Hayat said nearly 1,100 students from other provinces are currently studying in Daanish Schools under the existing special quota system.
He noted that the institution continues to provide educational opportunities to deserving students from different regions of Pakistan.
Top Students Participate in Board Meeting
The meeting also welcomed two Daanish School students who secured top positions in the Matric examinations.
Both students participated in the discussion and shared their suggestions on different educational matters.
Their participation highlighted the board’s commitment to involving students in conversations about improving academic standards and institutional development.
Thousands of Graduates Serving Across Pakistan
Rana Sikandar Hayat said Daanish Schools have produced thousands of successful graduates over the years.
According to him, 3,460 graduates are currently serving in various professional fields across the country.
In addition, 110 students are pursuing higher education at Beaconhouse University on fully funded scholarships.
These achievements, he said, demonstrate the long-term impact of the Daanish Schools system on students’ academic and professional success.
AI Curriculum Introduced for Middle Grades
The board was also informed about several new educational initiatives.
An artificial intelligence-based curriculum has now been introduced for students from Grade 6 to Grade 9.
Furthermore, the schools have launched programs designed to strengthen students’ social skills alongside their academic development.
These initiatives aim to prepare students for future educational and professional challenges in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Daycare Centres and Environmental Initiatives Expanded
The meeting reviewed additional development projects across Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence.
Officials informed the board that 16 daycare centres have been established to improve support facilities within the institutions.
Moreover, authorities are digitally mapping and monitoring the plantation of 71,000 trees to track environmental progress and ensure effective management.
These initiatives reflect the institution’s broader focus on student welfare and environmental sustainability.
