Former prime minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the party’s Azad Jammu and Kashmir parliamentary party on Saturday.
The meeting brought together senior PML-N leaders and newly elected members of the AJK Legislative Assembly.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also attended the meeting. Former Punjab chief minister Hamza Shehbaz was present as well.
PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir and former AJK prime minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan also joined the gathering.
Senior PML-N Leadership Attends Meeting
Several senior federal and party leaders attended the parliamentary party meeting. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar were among those present.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also attended the meeting. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah was present alongside Senator Pervaiz Rasheed.
Engineer Ameer Muqam and PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal also participated in the gathering. Moreover, Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Senator Anusha Rehman attended the meeting.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry was also among the participants.
Newly Elected AJK Members Join Gathering
The meeting also included newly elected members of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Their participation brought the party’s AJK parliamentary team together with its senior national leadership.
Nawaz Sharif chaired the gathering as the PML-N’s AJK chapter brought its parliamentary party together. The meeting featured the participation of senior federal leaders, Punjab leadership and prominent PML-N figures.
The gathering therefore brought the party’s central leadership and AJK representatives together at one forum.
