The proposed demonstration will focus on PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. Afridi made the announcement while addressing supporters in Peshawar. He said the party wants authorities to address several demands involving the detained PTI leaders.
PTI Seeks Meetings With Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi
Afridi said PTI wants Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to meet their family members and personal doctors.
He also demanded hearings for all pending cases involving the two leaders. According to Afridi, courts should decide those cases according to law and merit.
The KP chief minister further stressed the importance of transparent legal proceedings. He said authorities should protect the fundamental legal rights of the accused.
PTI has repeatedly raised concerns about access to family members and medical professionals. The party has also called for due legal processes in cases involving its leadership.
PTI Confirms September 27 Long March
PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram separately confirmed the September 27 long march.
According to Akram, party supporters chanted slogans demanding that the march proceed towards D-Chowk during Afridi’s address.
However, Afridi responded that the demonstration would instead move towards Adiala.
The announcement adds another major political mobilisation to PTI’s ongoing campaign. Party leaders say the march will provide a platform to present their demands to the authorities.
PTI representatives have also indicated that the party could announce its future political strategy during the campaign.
Security Measures Expected Ahead of March
