Pakistan has rejected allegations from India linking Islamabad to recent arrests across the country. Islamabad described the claims as part of a โmalicious campaignโ against Pakistan.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said India was using anti-Pakistan allegations for domestic political purposes. He argued that the claims were intended to shift attention away from Indiaโs own security challenges.
โPakistan strongly rejects the allegations made by Indiaโs Home Minister, attempting to link Pakistan with certain arrests in India,” Andrabi said in a statement.
The statement followed remarks by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah about a recent security crackdown. Indian authorities reportedly arrested more than 200 people accused of links to Pakistan.
India Claims Arrests Foiled Planned Attacks
Shah claimed Indian security agencies arrested more than 200 alleged โterror operativesโ across 14 states on August 12. The arrests came three days before Indiaโs Independence Day.
According to Shah, the suspects were linked to a group called the Shahzad Bhatti Network. He also claimed the arrests prevented planned โsubversive attacks.โ
Pakistan rejected the allegations and questioned Indiaโs claims about its alleged involvement.
Andrabi described the accusations as another example of what he called Indiaโs campaign against Pakistan. He said New Delhi was attempting to use such allegations for domestic political gains.

Pakistan Accuses India of State-Sponsored Terrorism
Andrabi also criticized Indiaโs domestic policies and its treatment of minorities and political dissent.
“At home, India is a repressive state, brutally oppressing its minorities and silencing dissent,โ Andrabi said.
He further alleged that India supports militant activities beyond its borders.
“Externally, India is exporting terror and abetting terrorists.”
The spokesperson said what he described as unfounded allegations could not shift international attention from Indiaโs alleged activities abroad. He accused New Delhi of state-sponsored terrorism, targeted assassinations and destabilising activities in foreign countries.
Islamabad Cites Kulbhushan Jadhav Case
Pakistan also referred to the case of Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav. Andrabi described the convicted and serving former Indian naval officer as evidence of Indiaโs alleged involvement in terrorism and subversion.
โPakistan has repeatedly shared evidence of Indiaโs involvement in terrorism and destabilising activities in Pakistan.”
He argued that the allegations made by India should not distract the international community from Pakistanโs concerns.
โPakistan urges the international community to reject baseless Indian allegations and hold India accountable for its state-sponsored terrorism in the region,โ the Foreign Office spokesman said.
The latest exchange has added to ongoing tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi. Both sides continue to accuse each other of supporting activities that threaten regional security.
Pakistan has rejected the latest Indian claims and called for the international community to examine the allegations and wider security concerns independently.
