The Sindh Health Department has completed a special health screening campaign across religious seminaries, with officials reporting that no HIV or hepatitis cases were detected among the 2,132 students screened. The initiative aimed to safeguard students’ health while promoting early disease prevention through free medical screening.
The campaign took place under the Sindh AIDS Control Program and focused on improving preventive healthcare for madrasa students. Moreover, health authorities described the initiative as an important step toward strengthening disease surveillance and encouraging regular health monitoring among children.
More Than 2,100 Students Screened Free of Cost
According to the Sindh Health Department, the campaign successfully screened 2,132 students studying at religious seminaries across the province. The department arranged the screening free of charge to ensure wider participation and easier access to preventive healthcare services.
Furthermore, officials launched awareness efforts before the campaign began. Announcements in mosques and seminaries encouraged students and their families to participate, resulting in a strong response from the community.
As a result, health teams completed the screenings without reporting any HIV or hepatitis cases among the participating students.
