Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the federal government remains committed to the welfare and development of Gilgit-Baltistan and its people. Moreover, he emphasized that close coordination with the provincial leadership would help ensure the timely completion of key development projects.
He noted that the federal government continues to prioritize Gilgit-Baltistan through investments in several important sectors. Consequently, these initiatives aim to improve infrastructure, public services, and economic opportunities across the region.
Development Projects Across Key Sectors
The prime minister highlighted that multiple development initiatives are already underway in Gilgit-Baltistan. These projects focus on renewable energy, tourism, infrastructure, health, education, and other public welfare sectors.
Furthermore, he said the federal government is working to promote sustainable growth while improving the quality of life for local communities. These initiatives are expected to strengthen economic development and create new opportunities for residents.
Major Federal Initiatives Announced
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pointed to two flagship projects currently planned for the region. One of the major initiatives is a 100-megawatt solar power project, which aims to enhance renewable energy production and improve electricity availability.
In addition, he announced plans to establish Daanish schools in Gilgit-Baltistan. The education initiative seeks to expand access to quality learning opportunities for students across the region.
The prime minister also shared plans to establish a Pakistan Asaan Khidmat Centre in Gilgit. The proposed facility will provide easier access to government services and improve public convenience for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Senior Federal Leaders Attend Meeting
The meeting was attended by several senior members of the federal government. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, and Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema also participated in the discussion.
Their presence reflected the federal government’s broader focus on strengthening cooperation with the newly elected Gilgit-Baltistan administration.
