A high-level delegation from the Federal Republic of Somalia visited General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to discuss defence cooperation and regional security with Pakistan’s military leadership.
The delegation was led by Somalia’s Defence Minister, Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, who called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral defence relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Regional Security and Defence Cooperation Reviewed
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, evolving regional security dynamics, and ways to deepen defence and security collaboration.
The discussions also focused on strengthening military-to-military relations through enhanced cooperation and capacity-building initiatives.
Both delegations acknowledged the importance of working together to address shared security challenges facing the region.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Somalia in strengthening its security institutions.
