Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has received permission to hold its public rally at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi. The permission came after JI and the district administration reached an agreement over arrangements for the event.
The two sides had earlier faced differences regarding the rally arrangements. However, those differences were settled after discussions between JI representatives and the administration.
Following the agreement, the district administration allowed JI to hold its rally at Liaquat Bagh.
The administration also unlocked the gates of the park. As a result, JI workers began preparations for the scheduled event.
Preparations begin at Liaquat Bagh
JI workers have started making arrangements at the rally venue. Several items needed for the event have also reached Liaquat Bagh.
Chairs, sound systems and lighting equipment have been brought to the venue. Other necessary items are also being arranged as preparations continue.
The opening of the park gates has allowed JI workers to proceed with preparations at the designated location.
The development came after uncertainty over whether the rally would take place at Liaquat Bagh. Earlier, JI had announced plans for a sit-in on Murree Road.
The announcement followed the administration’s earlier decision to deny permission for the rally at Liaquat Bagh.
