The United States is offering a reward of up to $20 million, alongside possible relocation, for information about Iran’s nuclear programme. The announcement comes despite President Donald Trump’s repeated claims that American military strikes have effectively obliterated Tehran’s nuclear capabilities.
The US military said the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme is seeking information about Iran’s nuclear facilities, equipment and personnel. The offer also covers individuals working in the country’s scientific community and the movement of relevant nuclear assets.
US Seeks Information on Nuclear Infrastructure
US Central Command announced the reward in a statement posted on social media on Friday. It said eligible informants could receive up to $20 million and assistance with relocation.
The programme aims to gather intelligence that could help Washington monitor Iran’s nuclear activities. However, US authorities have not specified which particular information would qualify for the maximum reward.
The State Department also raised concerns about Iran’s compliance with safeguards set by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). It said the agency had lost continuity of knowledge about Iran’s production and inventory of important nuclear components, including centrifuges.
Furthermore, the department referred to the IAEA’s 2025 reporting that Iran had enriched uranium to 60% purity. Weapons-grade uranium generally requires enrichment to around 90%, although further processing would be necessary.
Trump Maintains Nuclear Programme Was Destroyed
Trump has repeatedly described US strikes as having severely damaged Iran’s nuclear capabilities. On Friday, he again defended the military action, saying it had prevented a potentially wider regional threat.
Nevertheless, his administration’s latest reward offer indicates Washington continues seeking information about Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and associated personnel.
Trump also said Tehran wanted to reach an agreement to end the conflict. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts involving regional mediators continue as both sides face pressure to prevent further escalation.
