The United States Embassy in Moscow has issued an urgent security warning about a credible threat of a mass-casualty attack at a popular tourist destination in the Russian capital.
In a security alert released on Saturday, October 31, the embassy identified the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve as a potential target and urged American citizens to avoid the location and surrounding areas.
The embassy said Washington was coordinating with relevant Russian authorities to address the reported threat. It also advised people to remain vigilant, avoid crowded places and take necessary precautions.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) confirmed receiving information from American partners about preparations for a possible terrorist attack in Moscow. The agency said security officials were taking appropriate measures.
Authorities subsequently evacuated the Tsaritsyno complex and temporarily closed the historic museum and park. Security personnel also increased their presence around the area.
The warning revived concerns following the March 2024 Crocus City Hall terrorist attack, which killed 145 people and injured hundreds.
