A tragic road accident in the Kaghan hills claimed the lives of two young tourists and injured three others on their way to the Naran-Kaghan Valley. Rescue officials said the vehicle carrying the group fell into a deep ravine in the mountainous region.
The tourists were travelling from Khanpur to the popular tourist destination when the accident occurred. Rescue teams quickly reached the location and recovered the victims from the ravine.
Two Cousins Among Those Killed
Rescue officials identified the deceased as 22-year-old Hamza Qadir from Khanpur and 20-year-old Irfan Mughal from Nawabshah. According to officials, both victims were cousins.
The accident also left three other passengers injured. One of the injured, identified as Osama, was reported to be in critical condition. Meanwhile, other injured individuals were transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Rescue Operation Completed in Kaghan Hills
Following the incident, rescue teams carried out an operation in the difficult mountainous area. They recovered the bodies and shifted the injured passengers to medical facilities.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the reason behind the accident. However, officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances that caused the vehicle to lose control and fall into the ravine.
After completing legal procedures, authorities handed over the bodies to the families. The remains of Hamza Qadir and Irfan Mughal were transported to their hometowns in Khanpur and Nawabshah.
The incident has once again highlighted the risks of travelling through mountainous routes, where narrow roads, steep slopes, and difficult terrain often create challenges for drivers and tourists. Authorities continue to advise visitors to exercise caution while travelling in northern Pakistan’s hilly areas.
