How the Numbeo Crime Index Works
Numbeo calculates its Crime Index using user-contributed survey responses.
The survey measures how safe people feel while walking alone during the day and at night.
Furthermore, it examines public concerns about robbery, theft, assault, violent crime, property crime and corruption.
Therefore, the rankings represent perceptions of crime rather than verified law enforcement data or official government records.
