US Proposal for Wider Normalisation with Israel
US President Donald Trump has urged several countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tรผrkiye, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, to join the Abraham Accords. He said all nations should sign the agreement to normalise relations with Israel after a potential deal involving Iran.
Conditions Linked to Iran Agreement
Trump said the expansion could follow a broader diplomatic settlement with Iran. He described it as part of a complex international effort led by the United States. He suggested participation should be expected from most of the listed countries, while allowing limited exceptions.
Claim of Economic and Strategic Benefits
Trump said the Abraham Accords have delivered strong financial, economic, and social gains for participating countries. He said existing members, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and Kazakhstan, have seen sustained benefits and remain committed to the agreement.
Social Media Statement
In a post on Truth Social, Trump listed the countries he believes should be included in the expanded framework. He said the goal is to create a more historic and lasting regional settlement.
