WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump expressed strong confidence on Tuesday that Iran will completely stop enriching uranium and give up its nuclear weapon ambitions. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters before departing the White House.
Firm stance on nuclear issue
Trump told journalists he feels “100 per cent” certain about the outcome. “They’re going to stop,” he declared when asked directly about Iran’s uranium enrichment activities. He stressed that the United States wants only a good deal with Tehran and remains determined to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
Moreover, Trump praised Pakistan’s active role in regional diplomacy. He specifically commended Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for their efforts. “The field marshal and the prime minister of Pakistan have been absolutely great,” Trump said warmly. He added that Pakistan has provided valuable support during the current tensions.
Claims of weakened Iran
Trump further claimed that the United States has effectively dismantled Iran’s military capabilities. He described the American blockade as “100 per cent effective” and stated that Washington has ended everything related to Iran’s war machine. The president insisted that America will win whether the matter resolves peacefully or through other means.
Additionally, Trump mentioned he does not require China’s assistance on this issue but plans to discuss Iran during his upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. He described Xi as “relatively good” in this context.
