ISLAMABAD: Uzbekistan Airways has announced the launch of direct flights between Tashkent and Islamabad starting May 24. This marks a significant milestone in enhancing bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
According to the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad, the new route is part of broader efforts to boost trade, tourism, and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries. The initiative results from close coordination between the embassy and Uzbekistan Airways JSC to deepen diplomatic and economic engagement.

Initially, the airline will operate one weekly flight every Saturday. Discussions with Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority are ongoing to finalize the remaining logistical and regulatory arrangements.
Depending on passenger demand and operational considerations, the flight frequency could be increased in the future.
Uzbekistan Airways also plans to expand its operations to Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city and economic powerhouse. Currently, it operates bi-weekly flights from Tashkent to Lahore on Wednesdays and Fridays, providing vital air connectivity.
The expansion of Uzbekistan Airways’ network in Pakistan is expected to greatly enhance travel convenience and support the growing momentum in tourism and trade between the two nations.
