Updated Corolla Design Spotted Locally
Images of the upcoming Toyota Corolla Altis facelift have surfaced in Pakistan, strengthening reports that Toyota is preparing to refresh its popular sedan.
The local sighting follows weeks of reports from Toyota dealerships about a possible Corolla facelift and the reopening of bookings.
The most visible changes are at the front. The updated Corolla features redesigned headlights, a slimmer upper grille and a revised front bumper. These changes give the sedan a more modern appearance.
The rear section has also received updates. Revised tail lamps and a redesigned bumper are among the visible changes.
The vehicle spotted in Pakistan carries Altis and 1.8 X badging. However, its overall body shape remains largely unchanged. This suggests Toyota is updating the existing Pakistan-spec Corolla rather than introducing a new generation.
Engine Options May Stay the Same
Toyota has not officially confirmed major mechanical changes for the facelift.
The current Pakistan-spec Corolla uses naturally aspirated petrol engines. The 1.6-litre 1ZR-FE engine produces 120 horsepower and 154 Nm of torque. The 1.8-litre 2ZR-FE engine produces up to 138 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque.
The facelift could retain the existing engine lineup. However, Toyota has yet to confirm the final engines, transmissions or equipment levels.
Launch and Pricing Still Unconfirmed
The facelift could help Toyota respond to growing competition from crossovers, hybrids and feature-rich Chinese vehicles.
Toyota has not announced an official launch date, prices or final variants. The outgoing Corolla lineup currently starts at around Rs6.12 million, while the 1.8 Grande costs roughly Rs7.73 million.
The latest sighting, however, indicates that the Corolla Altis facelift is already in Pakistan and could be officially introduced soon.
