Rawalpindi police have claimed a major breakthrough in the murder case of TikToker Shamsoo Bibi, also known as Ayesha Gilamana. Police arrested five suspects during the investigation, including the victim’s father, real brother and three other relatives.
The other suspects include Ayesha’s cousin Ehsan, her father’s uncle Rozi Khan and cousin’s son Yasin. All five suspects are currently in police custody as investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the murder.
Police Trace Suspects After Extensive Investigation
SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob shared details of the investigation during a press conference at Police Lines Rawalpindi.
He said police managed to trace the blind murder after conducting an extensive investigation involving several specialised teams.
The teams were formed on the instructions of CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera and provided regular updates during the investigation.
Investigators examined more than 100 CCTV cameras while also using human intelligence and other available sources.
These efforts helped police narrow their investigation and identify the suspects allegedly connected with the killing.
Father and Brother Questioned During Probe
Police expanded the investigation after examining the circumstances and sequence of events surrounding Ayesha’s murder.
Investigators subsequently questioned the victim’s father and brother as part of efforts to establish what happened.
According to police, the suspects confessed during interrogation to their alleged involvement in the killing.
Police claimed Ayesha was allegedly killed by her father and brother with assistance from their accomplices.
However, these claims remain part of the ongoing investigation and will be subject to further legal proceedings.
Suspects Allegedly Tried to Mislead Investigation
Investigators also claimed that the suspects attempted to create a false impression after the murder.
According to police, this alleged effort aimed to mislead investigators and help those involved avoid legal consequences.
The investigation team examined available evidence alongside the suspects’ statements to establish the sequence of events.
Meanwhile, police said the initial findings indicate that the murder may have been committed in the name of honour.
However, investigators have not concluded the case, and further questioning could reveal additional details.
Further Investigation Underway
Police said all five suspects were arrested on the basis of evidence collected during the investigation.
Further legal proceedings are now continuing, while investigators work to establish the precise circumstances behind Ayesha’s death.
The police investigation will also determine the alleged role of each suspect in the murder.
Authorities said the probe remains ongoing and could lead to further revelations as investigators examine additional evidence.
