A man has been arrested after allegedly recording a TikTok video while sitting on the Station House Officer’s (SHO) official chair at Khurrianwala Police Station in Jaranwala. Police have launched legal proceedings following the incident, which drew the attention of the authorities.
The case has once again highlighted concerns over unauthorized access to restricted areas inside police stations and the misuse of official premises for social media content.
Suspect Arrested Following TikTok Video
According to police, the suspect has been identified as Hassan, son of Shaukat, and a resident of Rasoolpur in Faisalabad.
Authorities alleged that he recorded a TikTok video while seated on the SHO’s official chair inside Khurrianwala Police Station.
However, police have not released the video publicly. They also have not disclosed when or how the recording was made.
Police Register Case and Begin Legal Action
After the alleged incident came to the notice of law enforcement officials, police registered a case against the suspect.
Subsequently, Khurrianwala Police Station SHO Atif Shehzad Kachhi ordered the suspect’s arrest.
Officials confirmed that further legal proceedings have also been initiated in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Similar Incident Reported Previously
This is not the first time a TikTok video recorded inside an SHO’s office has resulted in disciplinary or legal action.
In July 2024, an assistant sub-inspector in Chiniot was suspended after allegedly facilitating a transgender person in recording a TikTok video while sitting on the SHO’s official chair at the City Police Station.
Following that incident, the district police chief ordered an inquiry to determine responsibility.
Later, the individual who recorded the video issued an apology to the police department.
Authorities Continue Investigation
The latest case has prompted another police investigation into the unauthorized use of official premises for social media content.
Authorities are examining all relevant aspects of the incident while continuing legal proceedings against the suspect.
Police have not shared additional details regarding the recording or any further evidence related to the case.
