Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed after unidentified attackers opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday. However, his driver sustained injuries, and the incident triggered fresh security concerns across the Indian film industry.
According to Indian media reports, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for the shooting. Gang-linked figure Anil Pandit reportedly said he and Harman Sandhu carried out the attack.
Gunfire Targets Actor’s Vehicle in Mumbai
The incident occurred on October 18 near filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu. Three motorcycle-borne attackers reportedly fired several rounds at the vehicle carrying Shroff.
Mumbai Police confirmed that the actor remained safe. Meanwhile, the injured driver received medical treatment at Nanavati Hospital.
Police launched an investigation to identify the attackers and establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Officers are also examining available evidence and security footage.
Gang Issues Warning to Bollywood Figures
Following the incident, a social media post linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the shooting. The message reportedly warned people in the Mumbai film industry against ignoring its threats or working with actor Salman Khan.
Pandit allegedly claimed that he and Sandhu carried out the attack after Shroff ignored earlier warnings. However, authorities are examining the claim, and a social media statement alone does not establish who organised or carried out the shooting.
The reported threat has raised concerns about the safety of celebrities and professionals associated with Khan.
Police Investigate Possible Gang Links
Mumbai Police are investigating the shooting and examining the alleged gang connection. Officials are also assessing the authenticity of the online claims and related threats.
The incident adds to a series of reported attacks and intimidation cases involving prominent Indian entertainment figures. In recent years, the Bishnoi gang has been linked in media reports to threats against Salman Khan and other celebrities.
For now, Shroff has escaped physical harm, but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will need to establish the attackers’ identities, motives and any confirmed links to organised criminal networks.
