Three members of the Nooray gang, who were wanted by police for allegedly murdering six people, were killed during a police encounter in Peshawar on Friday.
The encounter took place within the jurisdiction of Phandokey Police Station, where police confronted the suspects during an operation.
According to police, the three men were proclaimed offenders and were wanted in connection with serious criminal cases, including the murder of six people.
Two Suspects Identified as Afghan Residents
Police later identified the deceased suspects as Garan Wali, Ali Khan alias Sheena, and Zebeehullah.
Garan Wali and Ali Khan alias Sheena were residents of Afghanistan, while Zebeehullah belonged to Barey Bagh.
Police confirmed that two of the three suspects were Afghan residents following the encounter.
The identities of the suspects were established after they were killed during the exchange of fire with police personnel.
Weapons Recovered From Suspects
Police also recovered weapons from the possession of the three suspects after the encounter.
The recovered weapons included a Kalashnikov and two pistols.
The recovery of these weapons was reported as part of the police operation against the wanted members of the Nooray gang.
The suspects were reportedly wanted by police for their alleged involvement in the murder of six people.
Three Suspects Killed in Earlier Peshawar Encounter
The latest encounter comes days after another police encounter in Peshawar in which three suspects were killed.
On September 1, 2026, three suspects were killed during an encounter near Peshawarโs Northern Bypass.
Police said the suspects opened fire at law enforcement personnel when officers moved to intercept them.
The suspects also used hand grenades during the exchange of fire, according to police.
Two Station House Officers were injured during the confrontation.
One of the suspects killed in that encounter was identified as Mumtaz, also known as Mumtazay.
Police said Mumtaz was a wanted criminal who had been sought in connection with various criminal cases.
The latest incident adds to a series of encounters involving wanted suspects in Peshawar in recent days.
However, police said the three men killed on Friday were members of the Nooray gang and were wanted for their alleged involvement in six murders.
