New Motorcycle Brings Classic Styling to Competitive Segment
Super Star Motorcycle has expanded its lineup in Pakistan with the introduction of the Thunder SS150-H, a new 150cc motorcycle aimed at riders seeking a larger and more distinctive daily commuter.
Unlike many motorcycles in the category, the Thunder SS150-H follows a retro-inspired design. Its styling appears more traditional and restrained than the sharp body panels commonly used on modern street motorcycles.
The model features a long fuel tank, a flat seat and alloy wheels. The overall design may appeal to riders who prefer a classic motorcycle appearance rather than aggressive sports styling.
Super Star has entered a competitive category where buyers increasingly compare motorcycles based on engine performance, design, comfort, fuel capacity and price.
The company officially lists the Thunder SS150-H at Rs440,000 in Pakistan. The model is presented as part of Super Star’s heavier motorcycle range.
150cc Engine Comes With Self-Start and Four-Speed Gearbox
The Thunder SS150-H is powered by a 150cc single-cylinder engine.
The engine uses a four-stroke, two-valve and air-cooled configuration. It also features a single overhead camshaft system with chain drive.
Super Star lists the engine’s maximum output at 4.2 kilowatts at 8,500 revolutions per minute. The listed maximum torque is 5.8 newton-metres at 7,500 revolutions per minute.
Power is delivered through a four-speed constant-mesh transmission. The motorcycle uses a multidisc wet clutch.
The four-speed gearbox is simpler than the five-speed transmissions available on several motorcycles in the same engine category. However, its performance will depend on the motorcycle’s gearing, weight and real-world engine response.
The model includes both electric self-start and traditional kick-start systems. This combination gives riders an alternative starting method if the battery becomes weak.
A capacitor discharge ignition system manages the engine’s ignition process. The company also lists a bore and stroke measurement of 47 millimetres by 49.5 millimetres.
Large Fuel Tank and Compact Chassis Target Everyday Riders
The Thunder SS150-H is constructed on a backbone-type chassis with an iron-pipe swingarm.
It has a total length of 1,897 millimetres, a width of 751 millimetres and a height of 1,014 millimetres.
The wheelbase measures 1,200 millimetres. These dimensions give the motorcycle a relatively compact structure despite its 150cc engine.
The bike rides on alloy wheels instead of traditional wire-spoke rims. Its front tyre is listed as a 2.25-18 four-ply-rated unit.
One of its notable features is the 13-litre fuel tank. The total capacity includes a one-litre reserve supply.
A larger fuel tank can reduce the frequency of refuelling, particularly for riders covering longer daily distances. Actual range will depend on fuel economy, riding speed, road conditions and maintenance.
Super Star has not provided an official fuel economy figure on the motorcycle’s product page. It has also not listed verified top-speed, braking or suspension specifications in the available description. Buyers may therefore need to inspect the motorcycle at a dealership before making a decision.
The Thunder SS150-H gives Super Star a new option in Pakistan’s 150cc category. Its biggest selling points are its retro appearance, large fuel tank, alloy wheels and dual starting system.
However, its Rs440,000 price places it in a segment where customers are likely to compare build quality, spare-parts availability, resale value and after-sales support carefully.
The launch reflects growing competition among motorcycle manufacturers seeking buyers who want more power and road presence than a conventional 70cc, 100cc or 125cc commuter.
