Shan Masood to Lead Pakistan in Test Series Against Bangladesh, Confirms PCB

In a decisive announcement today, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi affirmed that Shan Masood will retain his role as captain of the national team for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

Speaking to media representatives, Naqvi disclosed that he recently engaged in a productive video call with Masood to discuss strategic enhancements and improvements aimed at bolstering Pakistan’s performance in Test cricket.

Amidst speculation and media scrutiny regarding Masood’s captaincy, Naqvi firmly clarified, “No decision has been made to remove Shan Masood as Test captain of the national team.” He reiterated the PCB’s confidence in Masood’s leadership abilities, citing positive feedback received from various quarters within the cricketing community.

“Many have given positive feedback about his leadership,” Naqvi stated, underscoring Masood’s continuity as a pivotal figure in guiding Pakistan’s Test team forward.

Turning to logistical matters concerning the Test series against Bangladesh, Naqvi informed that the PCB has finalized potential venues. Due to ongoing upgrades at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, the series may be hosted in Multan, Karachi, or Rawalpindi, pending final logistical arrangements.

The impending two-match series between Pakistan and Bangladesh holds significant importance as part of the ICC Test Championship 2023-2025, marking a crucial juncture for both teams in their pursuit of international cricketing accolades.
