These important appointments indicate a major change in the PCB’s selection mechanism aimed at improving the performance of the team.
Shahid Afridi has been criticising the poor selection of the team which failed to achieve the desired goals in T20 Asia Cup and T20 World Cup in recent months.
Furthermore, Wasim Akram, the King of Swing and former fast bowler, in his recent book, has also exposed nepotism in team’s selection system.
Therefore, keeping in view a growing criticism against national squad’s poor selection mechanism, the PCB has honoured the former best cricketers with their appointment in the selection committee.
